Ceccotti Collezioni is among the most exclusive Italian furniture design has to offer. What do customers expect from the brand?

Gianluca Ceccotti: The extraordinary. Materials, style, workmanship, craftsmanship and quality correspond exactly to the expectations of our high-end clientele. And of course, our customers love finely crafted wood, because almost all of our products are made of luxurious solid wood.

Stan Novakovic: This is exactly what our clientele is looking for too: unique items with a history that will give long-lasting pleasure and create a feeling of the extraordinary in their own homes.

What does it mean for Ceccotti Collezioni to work with a brand like Zingg-Lamprecht?

Gianluca Ceccotti: It's actually a “perfect match". For me, Zingg-Lamprecht has always been the best reference for luxurious furniture design and interior architecture in and around Zurich. When I was in in town, I always came to Walchestrasse, it was simply the place-to-be for me. The current vibe of the company convinces me a lot, the changes in the Zurich showroom surprised me positively – just like the cosmopolitan look of the Erlenbach location, which reflects the European market as a modern contemporary space. For me, Zingg-Lamprecht is a very good example of how the changes in the market can be shown within a company without turning its back on its values and its traditions.

And vice versa?

Stan Novakovic: Our customers expect the greatest care in the selection of brands and products with which we furnish their homes. Ceccotti Collezioni is top in terms of the quality of the brand, the design and workmanship of the products and the level of service to our customers. The collaboration allows us to give our customers access to another exceptionally fine brand.

Is there a product, a series or even a classic that you are very proud of at the moment?

Gianluca Ceccotti: The current DUO collaboration with Poltrona Frau, which we presented in Milan in April – and which will be available to buy at Zingg-Lamprecht from mid-September. Inspired by the carefree esprit of Italian dolce vita, these retro silhouettes capture the spirit of the times and, with their soft shapes, precise proportions and fine choice of materials, fit perfectly into modern living environments.  But our Ceccotti classics also make me proud.

How do you see the future of the furniture industry?

Gianluca Ceccotti: Customers today are well informed about brands and products and are looking for iconic heritage pieces with meaning. It's no longer just about owning furniture, but about the story it tells. Every product is the result of design, know-how and craftsmanship. The more these factors are combined, the more identity and character the piece of furniture acquires. In my opinion, this is the reason why Italian design is so respected all over the world: it is not only creativity that distinguishes our work, but also craftsmanship and experience that make it unique. Those companies that offer products that meet these requirements will undoubtedly be the winners.

Stan Novakovic: People will always look for something unique and beautiful. Also in the area of living. Based on this insight, we have been expanding our portfolio of "cool" and great brands for years and present them in probably the most beautiful showrooms far and wide.

Ceccotti Collezioni has been part of the Poltrona Frau Group for several years. Another "perfect match"?

Gianluca Ceccotti: Yes definitely! The combination of similar visions, corporate values and craftsmanship at the highest level is really a stroke of luck. We have been able to double our strength, know-how and production and are very successful with the brands. The designer Roberto Lazzeroni, who has been shaping our brand identity for more than 25 years as art director – and who also designed collections for Poltrona Frau – played a leading role in this partnership.

You have been in the family business for many years. Is that a curse or a blessing?

Gianluca Ceccotti: Probably both (laughs). But I can definitely consider myself lucky to be involved on a daily basis with a brand and a collection with such heritage, which carries the DNA of my family. Even as a child, I wanted to join the company one day. Founded in the 1950s by my grandfather, we are now the third generation to steer the company's fortunes.

The terrace is Stan Novakovic's favourite place in his own home, where do people meet you most, Gianluca Ceccotti?

Gianluca Ceccotti: I love cooking with my family, so the kitchen is one of my favourite places at home. Of course, I also have a few Ceccotti Collezioni pieces, like the BEAN DESK that I got from my grandfather, that are my favourites.
