Villa Tugendhat, Brno
Mies van der Rohe’s 1928 villa is as timeless today as it was then, and has been shining in new splendor for several years. It’s like sitting right in the middle of nature. One likes to linger on the comfortable Grantorino sofas (design Jean-Marie Massaud), surrounded by Chester One stools (design Renzo Frau) , a Ming’s Heart armchair (design Shi-Chieh Lu) or in a Lloyd library (design Jean-Marie Massaud).
Poltrona Frau is a collection of many artisan icons from over 100 years of company history. The recipe is as simple as it is sophisticated: high-quality materials, traditional craftsmanship and timeless design.
Pirelli skyscraper, Milan
Right next to Milan’s main train station stands the legendary Pirellone skyscraper. Built in 1961 for the Italian tire manufacturer Pirelli by architects Gio Ponti and Pier Luigi Nervi, its 127-meter height made it the tallest building in the northern Italian metropolis for a long time. The furnishings include a Massimosistema sofa landscape in natural leather as well as the Geometry salon table (design Poltrona Frau Design Centre), the Dezza armchairs (design Gio Ponti), the Isidoro bar case and the Bob side tables (design Jean-Marie Massaud).
Let it be Design: Ludovica & Roberto Palomba
The Let It Be sofa element group by Ludovica + Roberto Palomba is from 2017, combining summery light elements with loose cushions. The eye-catching combination of fine saddle leather and fabric are entirely in the spirit of the artisan manufacture Poltrona Frau.
Archibald Gran Comfort Design: Jean-Marie Maussoud
The heel of Tod’s famous moccasin inspired Jean-Marie Massaud to design this comfortable armchair. Just as the moccasin comfortably embraces the heel, this armchair makes you feel both safe and refreshed at the same time. As Grancomfort, it is finished in thick bull leather with beautiful pleats. With the matching stool you do not want to get up.
In commemoration of the 100th birthday of Achille Castiglioni and his brother Pier Giacomo, who died 50 years ago, this armchair was launched in 2018 in a limited series of 100 pieces. The fabric is a design by Swiss graphic artist Max Huber from Zurich, who was a close friend of the two Castiglioni brothers. 50 chairs were produced in black, 50 in white. Zingg-Lamprecht was able to purchase one chair each in black and white of this already sold-out edition.
